City of God I.5
Christ sacked us from the present evil age. We did not choose to be sacked but it happened in our daily routines. We became enslaved to our Lord, even if we had previously fought him.
Did he spare the dwellings of our Gods? No!
God will trouble hearts, conquering us with loving twine from within.
